SEE THE LUNAR STURGEON FULL MOON TONIGHT

The full moon of August will rise for skywatchers around the world early tomorrow, and you can get a preview of this so-called Full Sturgeon Moon in a live webcast tonight (Aug. 17).
August's Full Sturgeon Moon will occur at 5:26 a.m. EDT (0926 GMT) on Thursday (Aug. 18), but to the casual observer, the moon will appear full the day before (tonight) and after the lunar event. To celebrate the moon milestone, the online Slooh Community Observatory will host a free live webcast on the full moon in partnership with "The Old Farmer's Almanac," and you can see it on Slooh.com beginning at 8 p.m. EDT tonight (0000 GMT Thursday).
